From fractions to calculus, SAT prep to study skills, Adwait works with students one-on-one to turn confusion into clarity, from elementary school through high school.
About Adwait
Hi! I'm Adwait Acharya. I am a rising senior with an affinity for math. I have worked with students from elementary school through high school, helping them tackle math, prepare for standardized tests, and develop the habits that make learning stick for the past two years for over 15 students.
What sets my approach apart is simple: I explain things the way a student actually thinks, not just the way a textbook does. That gives me a real edge when it comes to figuring out where confusion starts and how to clear it up.
Whether a student needs to shore up foundational skills, conquer a tough unit, or build toward a target SAT score, I tailor every session to exactly where they are and where they want to go.
Work with AdwaitWhat I Teach
Every session is one-on-one and built around your student's specific needs.
From arithmetic and fractions to algebra, geometry, precalculus, and beyond. I meet students where they are and build a clear path forward.
Targeted practice on both the Math and Reading/Writing sections. Focus on the question types that appear most, and strategies that actually save time on test day.
Step-by-step support for nightly assignments. Rather than just giving answers, I explain the "why" so students can tackle similar problems on their own.
Note-taking, active recall, scheduling, and test anxiety management. Skills that pay off across every subject, not just the one we're working on.
Unit tests, finals, standardized exams — structured review sessions designed to identify gaps early and build confidence before the big day.
The Difference
No pre-packaged curriculum. Every session is scoped to what your student needs that week — reviewed, adjusted, and updated as they improve.
Concepts are explained in plain language first, then connected to the formal method. No jargon until the idea is already understood.
Sessions available on weekday evenings and weekends, online or in-person. We work around your family's schedule, not the other way around.
A better grade matters, but a student who walks into an exam feeling prepared matters more. I measure success by how independently they work.
I know how students actually think through problems — including the shortcuts and misconceptions that textbooks miss. That context changes everything.
What Families Say
"Not only did our son’s ISEE test scores improved significantly (~25%), but his current math grades are near perfect. If you’re looking for a great math tutor for your kid, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Adwait."
"My time being tutored by Adwait has been truly amazing. I started with a 620 on the math section of the SAT and in just one session, my confidence in the section increased significantly. Over the 5 sessions I had with him, we were able to increase my score all the way to 720. Adwait is so easy to work with, understanding, intelligent, and is a great choice! 11/10 recommend!"
"Most noticeable to us as parents was Adwait’s patience as he worked through the material with our son who can get easily frustrated when he doesn’t understand something. Adwait’s patient, calming and reassuring approach was able to give our son the confidence he needed to learn and master the material. "
