About Adwait
Hi! I'm Adwait Acharya. I am a rising senior with an affinity for math. I have worked with students from elementary school through high school, helping them tackle math and develop good learning habits for the past two years for over 20 students.
What sets my approach apart is simple: I'm a student, so I know how to teach students in a way different from normal, textbook tutoring. That gives me a real edge when it comes to figuring out where confusion starts and how to clear it up.
Whether a student needs to build up foundational skills or build toward a target SAT score, I tailor every session to exactly where they are and where they want to go.

Every session is one-on-one and built around your student's specific needs.
I teach from fractions to algebra, geometry, precalculus, and beyond. I meet students where they are in order to build a clear path forward!
Specific practice problems for specific skills on both the Math and Reading/Writing sections. The biggest score improvements will come from my game day tips and tricks.
Step-by-step support for nightly assignments. I rarely ever just give the answer; instead, I explain the "why" behind the question, so even after I leave, you retain your own skills.
Unit tests, finals, standardized exams: when preparing for tests, I structure our sessions in order to identify gaps early and build confidence for game day.
The Difference
Every tutoring session for every student is different. The more we work together, the more our sessions evolve to keep up with your student's improvements.
The worst thing about math is all of the technical terms. I make sure to explain it incredibly simply, and then provide the optional "formal" explanation in case a teacher requires it.
Sessions are available on weekdays, weekends, and school break as well if needed. Depending on the student's preference, we can work online or in-person. I'll work around your schedule!
Sometimes the grade doesn't really reflect all you've learned. Building the foundational skills early is what is more important than the letter. That's what I focus on. The A+ follows.

Sessions are scheduled directly with Adwait via email or phone. Most students meet weekly on a consistent day and time, but flexible week-to-week scheduling is also available. Sessions are typically 60 minutes, but can range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the age of the student.
Both! Online sessions are conducted via video call with shared screen and a virtual whiteboard. In-person sessions are available depending on your location. Please reach out to confirm availability in your area.
Math from elementary through high school (including algebra, geometry, precalculus, and statistics), SAT Math and Reading/Writing, general homework support, and study skills. Students from roughly 4th grade through 12th grade.
